The Group CEO

Built by a Practitioner, Not a Curriculum Committee.

CAPEX Institute exists because the gap it addresses was lived, not observed — from the boardroom, over a career of making the calls this Institute now trains others to make.

The Path

From the boardroom to the classroom

Before CAPEX, the Group CEO role meant carrying the accountability this Institute now teaches candidates to carry — leading a group of companies through the same pressures our case simulations recreate: liquidity shocks, governance challenges, market disruption, and the daily discipline of turning strategy into results people can actually measure.

CAPEX was founded to formalize that experience into a method — so the judgment built over a career of real decisions doesn't stay locked in one boardroom, but becomes something the next generation of Caribbean and global executives can be trained in directly.

Who We Are & Why We Exist

Built on Purpose.

Three statements. One unwavering commitment to what professional education in the Caribbean can — and must — become.

01 — Our Purpose

We exist to develop the leaders who will build a prosperous, self-determining Caribbean.

02 — Our Mission

CAPEX Institute channels a decade of practitioner-led results — five years teaching ACCA's most demanding papers, five consecutive years recognized as top tutor, and a body of former students who now lead as CEOs, a Cabinet Minister, Big 4 partners, and entrepreneurs — into a single institution built to do it again, deliberately, at scale.

We accept few. We expect much. We have already delivered results.

03 — Our Vision

To set the standard for professional excellence across the Caribbean and beyond — where the region's most ambitious leaders come to invest in themselves, and where that investment is recognised globally.

Why CAPEX Exists

The Caribbean does not lack talent. It lacks structured systems for developing executive judgment.

Every capable manager eventually hits the same wall: technical mastery stops being enough, and what's actually required is judgment — the ability to make a defensible call with incomplete information, under real consequence, on a clock that isn't waiting. Most preparation, everywhere, still optimizes for the exam instead of the room. CAPEX was built to close that specific gap, using the same case-immersion discipline that trains boardrooms worldwide, proven first where the stakes are genuinely local.

Institute Philosophy

Not the Largest. Not the Most Accessible. The Most Transformational.

"We don't train executives to follow best practices. We train them to define what best practice becomes."

CAPEX Institute was founded on the recognition that traditional executive education had become detached from executive reality. Programs focused on frameworks rather than judgment, on analysis rather than action, on individual achievement rather than organizational impact.

Our approach is different by design. We believe the most valuable learning happens at the intersection of strategic thinking and operational pressure — where genuine leadership development requires confronting authentic challenges, not sanitized case studies.

Living the Purpose

Our purpose isn't a marketing line. It lives in the way we design our programs, select our students, and hold ourselves to the same standards we demand of those who study here. Every graduate we produce will be proof of what becomes possible when ambition meets the right environment.

The Four Pillars of CAPEX

The Four Pillars

I — Mastery

Deep, practitioner-tested knowledge that holds up under real-world conditions — not surface familiarity dressed as expertise.

II — Credibility

Internationally recognized credentials that open doors — because the world should know, without explanation, what a CAPEX graduate has achieved.

III — Elevation

A permanent shift in how our graduates think, lead, and perform — not a certificate, but a transformation that compounds over a career.

IV — Selectivity

We accept few. That is not exclusion — it is the condition that makes everything else possible. Standards protect the experience of every candidate in the room.

In My Own Words

A pinned reflection on leadership and judgment.

From the Executive Journal

Culture Is a Control System, Not a Poster on the Wall

Every organization runs on a culture whether it names one or not — a set of unwritten rules about what gets rewarded, what gets tolerated, and what gets quietly punished. The real work of leadership is making that system deliberate instead of accidental.
